Important notice

Library and Archives Canada ends its Documentary Heritage communities Program (DHCP). This decision is part of the Comprehensive Expenditure Review announced by the federal government at the beginning of the summer 2025 and the adoption of the Budget 2025, on November 17.
For organizations currently receiving funding for an annual or a multi-year project, this announcement will not affect the funding initially planned to complete your project.

In order to determine if your organization and your project are eligible for Documentary Heritage Communities Program (DHCP) funding, please complete the questionnaire below.

Applicants must own the documentary heritage collections for which they seek funding. Before you submit an application that involves published materials (i.e., newspapers, serials, books, sound and video recordings), your organization must have either:
  • the originals in its possession
  • clearance for questions related to rights and permissions
